La Gafu Ten est probablement la plus belle exposition de petits bonsaï, de shohin, au Japon. Normalement il a lieu début janvier à Kyoto dans le beau centre d’exposition Miyako Messe.
Koji est le président de la « All Japan Shohin Bonsai Association » et aussi de cette exposition. Donc Koji était affairé, les semaines avant l’expo, avec des documents, des messages, des coups de téléphone. Il y a eu même des jours où il n’a pas touché à un arbre. Cela ne lui plaît pas.
Le premier prix était pour cette composition (Prix du premier ministre)
The Gafu Ten is probably the most beautiful exhibition of small bonsai, shohin, in Japan. Normally it takes place in early January in Kyoto at the beautiful Miyako Messe exhibition centre.
Koji is the president of the All Japan Shohin Bonsai Association and also of this exhibition. So Koji was busy, in the weeks before the exhibition, with documents, messages, phone calls. There were even days when he didn't touch a tree. He doesn't like it.

Et je pence que celui-ci était le plus petit de l’expo (5 à 6 cm de hauteur).

Et puis, il y a un coin où des compositions mettent à l’honneur une personne qui a joué ou joue encore un rôle important dans le bonsaï. Quelle bonne surprise de voir que Koji a choisi l’arbre que j’avais travaillé en début de mon stage, pour affiner la mise en forme et contribuer ainsi un peu à son design. C’est en l’honneur de la vice-présidente de la World Bonsai Friendship Federation, Mme Iwasaki Naemi.
And then there is a corner where compositions honour a person who played or still plays an important role in bonsai. What a nice surprise to see that Koji chose the tree I had worked on at the beginning of my course, to refine the layout and contribute a little to his design. Finalement encore une particularité de la Gafu Ten: presque tous les professionnels sont en costume et cravate.

Et Koji a dit que même les personnes peu intéressantes peuvent avoir l'air plus intéressant s'ils portent un costume....
And Koji said that even people of little interest could look more interesting when wearing a suit...
