Un petit genevrier d’une vingtaine de

centimètres, dont un des principaux intérêts est le bois mort. Et justement sur un arbre aussi petit, le bois mort donne un beau contraste.

A première vue l’arbre est intéressant des 2 côtés qui se proposent.

A small juniper of about twenty centimeters, where one of the main interests is the dead wood.  And precisely on such a small tree the dead wood creates a nice contrast.

At first sight the tree is interesting from the 2 sides that it proposes.

Mais dans les deux cas, il y a pour moi un peu trop de stabilité pour un arbre à l’aspect tourmenté. Dan cette position-ci, l’arbre prend plus de dynamisme. Et la forme va dans le sens de la semi-cascade.

But in both cases, there is for me a little too much stability for a tormented looking tree.  In this position, the shaft takes on more dynamism.  And the shape goes in the direction of the semi-cascade.

Je ligature tout l’arbre, mais pas le sommet. J’aimerais bien voir si l’arbre ne peut pas être construit sans ce sommet vert. Le sommet freinera peut-être un peu le mouvement descendant des branches inférieures.

I wire the whole tree, but not the top.  I'd love to see if the tree can't be built without that green top.  The top may slow down the downward movement of the lower branches a little.

Je préfère nettement cette forme plus compactée de l’arbre et au fond, je n’ai pas besoin de demander l’avis de Koji, puisque sa devise est de « compacter, compacter, compacter ». Il le dit même en français aux membres japonais de son club!

I much prefer this more compacted form of the tree and basically I don't need to ask Koji's opinion, since his motto is "compacter, compacter, compacter”. He even says it in French to the Japanese members of his club!

La fine branche morte à gauche vers le haut, fait contraste avec le mouvement général de l’arbre. Après l’avoir ligaturée, je la tourne vers la droite.

The thin dead branch on the left upwards contrasts with the general movement of the tree.  After wiring it, I turn it to the right.
